This is the tour we have all been waiting for! I am so excited that the Historic Preservation League of Oregon has put together a tour of Saul Zaik designed homes. Zaik is the architect of some of my favorite homes in Portland and at the coast (Salishan).
About Saul Zaik from the HPLO website:
Saul Zaik has been practicing architecture in Oregon since 1952 and is a master of the northwest regional style. His work includes residential buildings, the 1-A pre-fab house, resort condominiums, commercial buildings as well as additions to Timberline Lodge, national park buildings at Crater Lake and overseeing the restoration of Vista House at Crown Point in the Columbia Gorge.
His homes are often unassuming from the street, but open and airy light-filled interiors demonstrate the genius of his designs and thoughtful site orientation that reflects his love and respect for the local landscape.
