The Architectural Heritage Center hosts it’s final night of the Fostering Harmony community conversation with Jeff Schnabel, artist and assistant professor of architecture at PSU.   Joining him to discuss architecture and design is local architect William Tripp. This event is this Friday, December 17th from 6pm -8pm at the Architectural Heritage Center (701 SE Grand Ave) and is free.

Details from the Architectural Heritage Center:

“Join us for the final night of our Community Conversation series and the announcement of the “Fostering Harmony” Viewer’s Choice Award!

Jeff Schnabel, artist and assistant professor of architecture at PSU, will address his connection to industrial sites and how these places’ layered histories have transformed his thinking about design and provided a foundation for his artistic endeavor. He’ll discuss the primary themes of his work and why encaustic painting is the best way for him to express his ideas.

Also, Special Guest and Portland architect William Tripp will speak on the role of ritual space in architecture and nature. He will show some images of the rituals and ritual spaces his team has designed and discuss how ritual is woven into our community.”
