Robert Rummer launched Rummer Homes Inc. in 1959 and specialized in building mid century modern homes in Beaverton, Gresham, and Lake Oswego (rumor has it he may have built some homes at the Oregon coast and Eugene but will confirm this with him). One of the most unique features of the Rummer homes are the atriums that most models boast to allow the outside in. More unique features of the Rummer homes are: large floor to ceiling glass windows to again bring the outdoors in, post and beam construction (beams originally painted in Rhodda’s Oxford Brown), vaulted ceilings in some models, galley kitchens with Thermadore stainless ovens and cooktops, radiant heat floors and Roman shower/bath.
ATTENTION RUMMER OWNERS:
The Rummer network site is here! Created by an Oak Hills Rummer owner where they will share vendor info and share stories, link to other owners blogs etc. Even if you don’t own a Rummer check it out.
